Product description

The Quartz Vortex Retarder is fabricated on a UVFS substrate by utilizing internally induced birefringent micro?nano structures within quartz. It comes as a 1?inch single?substrate bare chip without housing.

Inside the substrate, the fast?axis orientation of the birefringent microstructure features continuous azimuthal rotation. A uniform ¦Ë/2 retardance is maintained across the full aperture of the device, making it a single?wavelength component.

The Quartz Vortex Retarder features polarization?dependent optical properties. Subject to the polarization state of the incident beam, it generates vortex beams with helical wavefronts for circularly polarized incidence (with reversed handedness of output circular polarization); vector?polarized beams will be produced when illuminated by linearly polarized light.

Compared with conventional spiral phase plates, the quartz vortex retarder generates vortex beams efficiently via delicate polarization manipulation with greater flexibility. Its flat?plate configuration has no physical relief profiles and facilitates easy integration. Unlike liquid?crystal?based vortex retarders, it works for ultraviolet spectral range. Thanks to the substrate material, it delivers a high damage threshold under ultraviolet irradiation.

offers standard Quartz Vortex Retarders with operating wavelength ¦Ë of 355?nm and topological charge m of 1. Flexible specification customization is available to satisfy diverse requirements across various application scenarios.
