Product description

Expanding and contracting laser beams is a common requirement when working with laser sources and optical components. LBTEK large aperture fixed magnification laser beam expanders are telescope-based optical systems that expand (or contract) the diameter of a collimated incident beam by a fixed magnification. Through low aberration, air-spaced design, the transmitted wavefront error is less than ¦Ë/4 @633 nm (diffraction-limited). Each lens surface is coated with an anti-reflection coating, minimizing reflections at air-glass interfaces in the specified band. Compared with the typical 4% reflection of uncoated surfaces, the AR coating reduces the average reflectance of each surface to below 0.5% in the specified band. LBTEK UVFS beam expanders provide threaded input and output apertures: the input end has SM1.5 internal threads and the output end has SM3 external threads, for easy integration with LBTEK lens tubes and other optical components. Adjusting the magnification ring on the input end does not rotate the threaded end or mounting surface, so the stability of other components in the optical path is unaffected during divergence adjustment. LBTEK also offers customization services including special sizes, design wavelengths and expansion ratios. Please contact LBTEK technical support for details.
